Coffee
He was one of the best athletes to play at Coffee High School. earning all-state honors in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He had opportunities to pursue careers in football, basketball, and baseball, but ultimately chose basketball where he recently ended his career. At Coffee, he was known as the State's top pass/rush quarterback and signed a scholarship with Auburn. In basketball. he was a second team high school All-American after becoming Coffee's all-time leading scorer. In baseball, he's Coffee's all-time leading homerun hitter and was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 12th round. He opted to attend Junior College in Florida instead, where he became the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year in both seasons as well as a JUCO All-American during his second season. He was drafted again by the Blue Jays in 1991 and the Minnesota Twins in 1992, but he turned them both down to accept a basketball scholarship with Clemson. He became the ACC Newcomer of the Year in 93-94, averaging 16 points and 4 rebounds a game. The next year he was voted the league's Sixth Man of the Year by averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds. He scored 21 second-half points to help Clemson defeat top-ranked Duke on the road. He tore an ACL during the Atlanta Hawks' free agent camp in 1995 and joined the International Basketball Association for the 1997·98 season, where he averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds. After another NBA season, he went to France where he averaged 24 points and 6 rebounds for Lyon Cro. His best pro season was the 2000-2001 year with Champagne Sport where he finished in the top 3 in scoring(32), rebounds( 12) and assists(4). He was the league's player of the year. He continued to excel until another knee injury forced him to give up basketball during the 06-07 season.
