Brooks
Louis competed in football, basketball, and track for Brooks High School. Gordon was a 1987 All-Area team member for his performance in high hurdles. He was also part of the Brooks High School back-to-back Final Four teams in 1986 and 1987. He received All-Area basketball team honors as a senior. In 1985 Gordon’s football talent and excellence in punting landed him Times Daily All-Area Team (4A-6A), and First Team All-State honors by Birmingham News and Alabama Sports Writers Association. He earned the same honors the following year as a senior for his showing at the position of linebacker and picked up the title of Lauderdale County Defensive Player of the Year. At the conclusion of his high school career he signed a football scholarship with Ole Miss. During his stint at Ole Miss he became a member of the Ole Miss M-Club as a sophomore. He was the team Specials Teams Player of the Week against Alabama in his sophomore year and against Arkansas in his junior year. As a senior he was the starting tight end and was awarded as the Ole Miss Special Teams Player of the Year.
