Fulmer, Jim

Jim was a 6’ 6” forward / center who played at Alabama from 1956-58. He led Alabama in scoring in 1957 with 557 points and averaged 21.4 points per game. He led the team in rebounding in both 1957 and ’58 with 383 and 225. In 1957 he also led the team in free throw attempts with 263 and free throws made with 189. He ranks first in school history in free throws attempted in a season with 263 (1957). He ranks third all-time in single season rebounds with 383. He ranks sixth overall in career average rebounds in a game with 9.4. Fulmer a Coffee High School graduate, was part of what became known as the Tide’s Rocket 8 team that won the SEC championship in 1956. That team was the only team in school history to complete an SEC season undefeated (14-0). Fulmer was the second pick in the fifth round by the Cincinnati Royals in the 1958 NBA draft. He was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
