Ezell, Petty

He played football, basketball, and baseball at LCHS from 1955 through 1957. He Scored over 1,500 spoints as a senior, averaging 32 points per game. He made the All-State team as a senior and played in the state all-star basketball game. Played three sports in college at Austin Peay and Florence State. He has been athletic director at Woodward Academy in Atlanta for 27 years where he coached basketball and baseball as head coach during 37 years at the school. He also served as athletic director, his teams won or were runners-up for state championship 31 times. The school is currently the largest in the National Association of Independent Schools. He was chosen the National Federation of State High School Athletic Director of the Year in 2000. He has been an active member of the Georgia Athletic Director Association and the organization's state liasion to the NIAAA since 1980. He also been instrumental in dealing with public/private schools relations in Georgia, serving on the executive committee of Georgia High School Athletic Association for six years.
