Bradshaw
He participated on Mars Hill's first interscholastic teams in basketball and track. He placed third in the state long jump competition at Auburn. He ran cross country for Harding University and was an anchor for the 1963 Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference championship team. He began his coaching career at Naylor Junior High in Missouri before returning to Florence to coach basketball and track at Appleby Junior High. He coached at Bradshaw for 26 years. The Bruins won a state championship in 1969 under his direction. His cross country teams finished runnerup in the state four times and in the top five, six times. His teams won the TVC title 12 times and 24 invitational meets. Bradshaw's track teams had similar success, win-ning or finishing second in the TVC meet 16 times and winning six sectional titles. His varsity girls basketball team finished second in the state once. He helped organize the first track club
in the Shoals and the first Times Daily Tennessee River Run.
