Campbell, Collis

Coffee

His football career took off when he transferred to Coffee High school for his final two high school seasons. As a senior, he rushed for 873 yards on only 142 carries and scored 11 touchdowns. The performance earned him All Tennessee Valley Conference honors as well as a spot on the All-Area team. He also ran track while at Coffee. In addition, the season made him a highly recruited player. He ended up signing with Pat Dye at Auburn in 1982. He was part of the same recruiting class with other noted running backs B0 Jackson and Tommy Agee. Despite injuries early in his career at Auburn, he was the Tiger's second-leading rusher and was fourth on the team in scoring in 1984. Career ending injuries kept him from an NFL career with Green Bay & Atlanta Falcons.
