Brewer, Greg

Greg attended Bradshaw High and served as Student Government Association president. He graduated in 1975. He became associated with the AHSAA in 1976, serving as a contest official in football, basketball and baseball through 1992. Brewer joined the AHSAA in 1985 as assistant director, serving until his retirement in 2017. He found a home as the AHSAA's Director of Officials and established statewide training camps for officials in all sports, set up the current District Director program that is used to rate and further train contest officials; developed and helped implement the AHSAA pitch count rule for baseball, which has been applauded nationwide; and created a sports officiating class for high school students. He was a 2018 inductee into the Alabama High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
