Bowens, William

Bowens was an All-County and All-Area football star at Brooks High School in 1975. He also averaged over 20 points per game his junior and senior year in basketball. His football prowess became his niche. After signing with the University of North Alabama in 1976, he blossomed from a 175 lb. player to a 230 lb. linebacker as a senior and was an All-Gulf South Conference performer. He was named to the UNA All 50 Year Football Team in 1999 and played for World Champion Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Colts of the NFL for 3 years.
