Beckwith, Rita Smith

Rita was a Waterloo basketball standout who as a senior averaged 28.1 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. She had a career high 41 points and 21 rebounds in a single game. She also recorded 152 steals and 122 blocked shots. She was named 1A Player of the Year and played on the Alabama versus Mississippi All-Star Game. She played at North West Shoals Community College and University of Memphis. At NWSCC she was named a first team All-American, after leading her squad to 27-9 overall record, while averaging 17 ppg. and 8 rpg. She was named State and Region Tournament MVP. She finished her college career at Memphis where she averaged 74% from the free throw line.
