Renita excelled at basketball and volleyball at Lexington High School.
In basketball, she began playing in the seventh grade and started five seasons. She finished her senior season averaging 19 points ppg, along with 10 rebounds and 5 assists, while making All-County, All-Area and All-Times Daily teams. She finished with 1,395 career points.
In volleyball, she earned a starting position on the state championship team as a freshman and was the state's MVP as a senior. She made All-County and All¬Area her final three seasons.
In track, she finished fourth in the state three times in the shot put. She signed a basketball scholarship with Calhoun and started 15 of 21 games as a freshman, averaging 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. She transferred to UNA the following year to play volleyball. She earned a starting position and was team's best blocker and outstanding team player while producing 185 kills. She was an All-GSC selection twice and led Lions to a top 10 national ranking.
